She looked probably the most beautiful I've ever seen her on the silver screen in this film and she seems to be as in top shape as her career is these days. Nevertheless, Miss Mukherjee snatches Maya from the page and plays her to the bone. She was very at home in the role of Maya, a conflicted bride-to-be (when we met the character), but it's too bad that her chemistry with SRK could not match that of her cousin Kajol's legendary on screen presence with the same actor. A woman of substance, I mean, she could have cheated too, but she didn't. Poised, prim and proper Rhea handled every aspect of her life (triumph or defeat) with utter class thanks to Zinta's riveting delivery of the role. Where SRK's Dev tended to over-react and over-ACT, Zinta's Rhea was cool, calm and calculated. That's one thing that I liked about the film, no matter how problematic, it dealt with a lot of undertones and issues that resonate with real life happenings. I didn't cry during an single scene in KANK, but I must say that Preity brought me very close, especially in the scene where she agrees from her mother-in-law to stay with her. Rhea is the character whom I felt sorry for the most because she reminded me so much of my own mother. She gave a shining and very memorable performance as Rhea Saran, a career woman/soccer mum who is unfairly cheated on by her trifling husband Dev. PREITY ZINTA India's Catherine Zeta Jones, in every way you want to imagine it (well, maybe except the Michael Douglas factor & the early singing career). IMHO, he gave his best to playing Dev but his best was just not good enough. That is until he is handicapped by a nearly fatal accident. Here, he plays Dev Saran, a married father of one and a champion footballer by any standard. Most people would argue that anything the man touches turns to gold but when you really slice and dice it, SRK is more of a celebrity than an actor. THE MAIN CAST SHAH RUKH KHAN A bona fide celebrity in his own right, in the words of Farah Khan "He's the Tom Cruise of India." and even I am not sure if that's a good thing or bad. Every scene from "3 Years Later." Just to mention a few. Karan, honestly babe, you should have waited until she was done with 'Fanaa'. I've heard a rumour that Kajol was supposed to play the role of Maya. I mean come on "Dude", "Sexy Sam", "Are you on the menu?" "No but my grandmother is.", "I love you Maya.and you love me too", "Isn't it great when a call girl calls you.", and so on and so forth were so lame it hurt. The Divine Kiron Kher co-stars as the mother of Khan's character, with special appearances by Kajol (as a dancing guest at a party) and John Abraham (as a nightclub DJ ALA Usher's character in 'She's all that'). Arjun Rampal provides eye candy as a skirt chasing entrepreneur who is constantly rebuffed by Zinta's character. Amitabh Bachchan embarrasses himself as the aging playboy & father of Jr.B's character. Poor Preity Zinta is caught in the sidelines of the love-triangle as Khan's character's wife. But when we approached her, she gave her nod at the first narration.THE FILM(plot) A young woman (Rani Mukherjee) meets her soul mate (Shah Rukh Khan) on the morning of her wedding to another (Abhishek Bachchan). He said, “Karan was casting for KANK (Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna) at that time, and since Kajol and he were thick friends, Adi (Aditya Chopra) and I thought she would work in that film. However, the makers weren’t sure if Kajol would star in the film as she was also offered Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna around the same time.

Kunal had told Hindustan Times in an interview, “We went to Aamir first and when we asked him who he thinks would play the role of Zooni the best, he said ‘I will give you three names and that is Kajol, Kajol and Kajol.” It was Aamir who had referred Kajol’s name for the role of Zooni in Fanaa. Aamir and Kajol are yet to work together in a film after Fanaa. Child actor Ali Haji had played the role of Kajol and Aamir’s son in the film.ĭirector Kunal Kohli had once revealed they had shot the film in minus 27 degrees temperature in Poland. While Aamir portrayed the role of a terrorist, Kajol played his sight-impaired lover from Kashmir. #RishiKapoor 2006 film also starred late Rishi Kapoor, Tabu, Kirron Kher and Sharat Saxena in supporting roles. Still remember Poland and how much fun we had there. And as usual the film was quite different from what we read on paper. Sharing the picture, she wrote, “#14YearsOfFanaa.

She shared a behind-the-scene picture from the sets of the film which shows her and Aamir sitting across a wooden table. Kajol has shared a memory with actor Aamir Khan on the completion of 14 years of their film, Fanaa.
